This Day in Music

My Saturday was a day filled with my {favorite} thing in the world, music

The fun started at the Beekman Beer Garden, down on the water in the financial district, where my friend hosted the Bud Light Lime end of summer party. The party included free beer, food and best of all, music! By 5 p.m. the crowd was going crazy thanks to performances by Swizz Beatz, Araabmuzik and Jermaine Dupri.

Needless to say, it was a great start to a night that had hardly just begun.

After the beerfest, I ventured to the Central Park Great Lawn for Global Festival, which included live music from The Black Keys, Band of Horses, K'naan, Neil Young and last but certainly not least, {the Foo Fighters}.

Towards the end of the Foo Fighters' set, lead singer, Dave Grohl, hit the crowd with some shocking news.

"Without making a big deal out of it, we don't have any shows after this," Grohl said. "This is it, man. Honestly, I don't know when we're gonna do it again... and this is the perfect place to do it, right now, tonight."

Regardless of if the Foo Fighters really do go on hiatus, I am feeling very lucky to have been one of the 60,000 people who got to see the last performance of their tour... in Central Park, nonetheless.

All for now,
Xx Amanda
